Address inequalities in women’s health through Empowerment, Education and Equity

About Women’s Wellbeing

Women’s Wellbeing was set up in June 2020 to reduce health inequalities for women that were living in poorer health due to poverty, disadvantage and ethnicity. Women in deprived areas live only two-thirds (66.3%) of their lives in good health compared to 82% for women in less deprived areas. Infant mortality and complications at birth are also higher in minority communities, worsened by barriers like limited digital access and language proficiency.
This lack of access exacerbates health inequalities, leaving many women unable to engage with preventative care or support services for chronic conditions. Additionally, women with limited digital skills are less likely to access mental health resources or participate in health promotion initiatives, further widening the health gap

Our focus – Digital Pathways

Recognising the link between digital literacy and health, we launched our Digital Pathways programme to focus on digital upskilling. Due to the success of the Digital Pathways programme, we are now offering everyone in these underserved communities the opportunity to register in order to close the digital gap and improve health and wellbeing for all individuals experiencing digital exclusion in underserved communities.
